Buddha Paintings
The meditating Buddha, Buddha face art and Buddha quote paintings, framed and ready to hang.
Paintings of Gautam Buddha for the living room, bedroom, meditation corner or office: the Buddha seated in meditation among lotuses, two textured Buddha face designs and two golden Buddha frames with a quote. Each one arrives assembled, with the hooks already fitted at the back.
What our Buddha paintings show
Most designs show the Buddha seated in meditation, eyes closed: among pink lotuses in teal water, above a lotus pond in purple light, under pink blossoms at sunrise, or as a silhouette in orange robes on black. The lotus appears so often because in Buddhism it stands for a pure mind rising out of muddy water.
For a modern wall there are two Buddha face designs, one in gold and blue, the other in black with green and gold. The golden Buddha quote frames carry “Quiet the mind and the soul will speak” and “With our thoughts we make the world”, and also sit among our motivational frames.
Where to hang a Buddha painting
In the living room, a meditating Buddha usually goes on the main wall above the sofa, or on the wall you see first as you walk in. Vastu guides commonly suggest the east, north or north-east.
In a bedroom, hang a calm lotus design where you see it from the bed, not on the wall your feet point to while you sleep. A meditation or yoga corner needs just one painting on a quiet wall, a little above your eye line as you sit, and our meditation paintings go well beside it. In an office or study, a Buddha face or quote frame usually goes on the wall you face from the desk.
For Buddhists he is a revered teacher, so treat the painting as you would any of our god photo frames. People avoid hanging it in a bathroom or kitchen, under the stairs, or low down near the floor and the shoe rack.
Choosing a design and size
Let the room decide. The lotus paintings bring soft pinks, purples and teal to a bright living room or bedroom. The orange Buddha on black and the face designs stand out on a white or light grey wall and suit a modern flat or office.
Most designs are 14 × 20 inch, enough for the wall above a side table, a headboard or a desk. The orange Buddha comes with a choice of 0.5 or 1 inch frame. Every size is listed below.
Gifting and care
A Buddha painting suits a housewarming, a new office or clinic, Buddha Purnima, or a friend who meditates. Delivery is free across India and takes 5 to 10 days, so order a little early.
The prints are laminated and coated, so a soft dry cloth is all the cleaning they need. Keep them off damp walls. If a frame reaches you damaged, we replace it.

Can we put a Buddha painting in the living room?
Yes, it is a natural place for one. Choose a clean main wall, ideally east, north or north-east as Vastu suggests, at eye level or a little higher and away from the shoe rack.
Which direction should a Buddha painting face?
Vastu guides usually place a Buddha painting on the east or north-east wall, with the north as another option, and generally leave out the south wall. Many people also like him to face the main door, so he is the first thing you see when you come in. These are traditions, so go with what your family follows.
Can we put a Buddha painting in the bedroom?
Many people do, since the meditating Buddha is calm to look at. Tradition says not to hang it on the wall your feet point to while you sleep.
Is it lucky to keep Buddha at home?
Many families believe a Buddha image brings calm and good energy into a home, and both Vastu and feng shui have traditions around it. That is a belief, not a promise. Whatever your reason for keeping one, give it a clean wall at eye level or above.
Which Buddha painting is good for home?
The seated, meditating Gautam Buddha is the usual choice, often with lotuses around him. The Laughing Buddha that people keep for luck is a different figure from Chinese folk tradition, not Gautam Buddha.
